This play and learn program for children ages 4-17
1) Teaches them KNOWLEDGE about Africa, its beliefs and its rich cultural heritage in our cultural studies program through music, drama, dance, storytelling, language, and other forms of fine and performing arts.
2) Uses the Art of African storytelling to help children understand CUSTOMS, MORALS and LAWS to be good and productive members of society
3) develop skills and creativity in children using African fine/visual and performing Arts. e program is also designed to coach and develop the visual and theatrical arts talents in these children.
They learn and develop skills in ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, Poetry recitals, playwrights, music, drumming and dancing and other forms of theatrical performing artists the element of African Art to develop communication skills, complex thinking, problem solving skills, and other lifelong skills to help them excel academically through Fine and Performing Arts. The program is also designed to coach and develop the visual and theatrical arts talents in these children. It is produced by Sankofa Foundation Incorporated a US nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization that promotes cultural Awareness, Educate the community and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the people of Africa in the diaspora.
